Reduce safety hazards, preparations before riding!

For cycling enthusiasts, a bicycle and a backpack can travel, simple and environmentally friendly. Drive through bumpy roads, traverse dark tunnels, experience challenges amid constant difficulties, experience customs in far-flung places, and experience success at the end of the journey. It is worth noting that cycling, as a speed sport, is inherently dangerous, so we must pay attention to the following points:

Always check your vehicle before riding

Make sure to get into the habit of checking your vehicle before every ride. Confirm whether the tire pressure is sufficient, whether the brakes are normal, whether the faucet and handle are locked, whether the seat cushion is adjusted to the appropriate height, etc. It is recommended that a simple maintenance tool set (wrench, screwdriver, small pump, etc.) can be placed in the saddlebag of the vehicle, and can be replaced when necessary.

Vehicles need to be equipped with reflectors and lighting

Some people say that cars are meat wrapped in iron, and bicycles are iron wrapped in meat. More attention should be paid to safety when riding a bicycle. In densely populated areas of the city, there are people coming and going in the streets and alleys, and traffic accidents are prone to occur if you are negligent for a while. Adhering to the principle of protecting yourself and others, you should turn on the lights when riding at night to remind other passers-by of "you".

Wear a safety helmet correctly

Although traffic laws do not currently mandate the wearing of helmets when riding a bicycle, it is still recommended that cyclists develop the habit of wearing helmets.

1. Before wearing the helmet, you should select the appropriate size that has passed the test.

2. Adjust the knob at the rear, the tightness should be kept comfortable but not loose.

3. Fix the adjustment buckles on both sides under the earlobe to avoid shaking or falling off.

4. Fasten the button to keep it comfortable and fixed without loosening.

5. The front edge of the helmet should be pressed down to align with the eyebrows to ensure that the forehead is protected.

Wear gloves to avoid injury

Bicycles weigh less than motorcycles and are more likely to lose their balance. When a person falls on a bicycle, the reflex action uses the hands to support the body, and wearing gloves can protect the palms during the fall. Some bicycle-specific gloves also have pads sewn into the inner layer, which can provide shock absorption and cushioning effects to avoid palm injury.

Keep a safe driving distance

When riding a bicycle, you should keep an appropriate safety distance from other vehicles to prevent emergency braking in case of emergency. Due to the light weight of the bicycle, emergency braking may lead to serious consequences such as rollover. The correct way should be to release the brakes with both hands, slow down slowly, and do not only brake the front wheels. (recommended to brake first and then brake)

Slow down when turning

Before entering a curve while riding, reduce your speed to a range that is safe to pass, and do not slam into it. Also avoid braking when entering a corner to avoid losing balance and causing an accident. Before changing the driving direction, you can make a gesture to remind other passers-by to observe the unmanned vehicle before turning.

Get off and stand when parking

The road is like a tiger's mouth. When passing the intersection, you must be alert and do not rush or run red lights. When encountering a red light, be sure to leave your butt off the seat cushion and your feet off the pedals to maintain a standing position to ensure balance. When starting, the body can be tilted, and the front foot can step on the pedal firmly and start quickly to avoid falling down due to the unstable center of gravity.

Keep right angles when crossing railroads

When passing through railway level crossings, the principle of stopping, watching and listening should be maintained. When the fence has been lowered, you should wait patiently and do not trespass on the railway tracks. When crossing the railway, the front wheel should keep a right angle with the rail, be careful of the gap between the rails, and pass quickly.

Measure ability and choose the right road section

The terrain of each region is changeable and the landscape is beautiful. Bicycle tourism is a very popular leisure activity. However, before traveling, you should plan your route and measure your physical strength and skills. Increase riding distance and intensity in a step-by-step manner, replenish water at any time, and arrange appropriate rest time.
